The inequality of natural resources forces countries to look beyond their borders for what they lack to satisfy their needs. To do this, men use the cheapest means of transport and largest carrier of the volume and the tonnage of these natural resources.
This means of transport is just a floating device called a ship. This ship is acquired by a legal or natural person called a shipowner or charterer.
The latter is often represented in ports by a legal entity called a shipping agency whose mission is to manage the call of their ships in these ports following their instructions while respecting the local laws of the country of the port.
This is the mission that Reca-Togo has assigned itself by establishing itself at the Autonomous Port of Lome since 2024 under approval AG/2024/954/IN/ONAEM/CAV to represent these shipowners or charterers to manage the call of their ships.

Reca-Togo agency carries out several activities on the port platform.
Ship Consignment
In the activity of ship’s consignment, Reca Togo operates different types of ships at Lomé port such as tankers, roros, container ships and bulk carriers. As a proof, it has consigned again Liberia-flagged ship Mv Agios Nikolaos currently under operation at Pier 1 at Berth 4 discharging 32,000 tons of bagged rice.
Crew change
In the crew change activity, the agency manages the logistics of the on-signers from their provenance through Aeroport International Gnassingbé Eyadema to the quay or to the anchorage; and the logistics of the off-signers from the Autonomous Port of Lome to Aéroport International Gnassingbé Eyadema. She also carries out the same activity through land borders.
Provisions supply
Furthermore, in the provision supply activity, she provides ships at the berth as well as the anchorage with provisions of food stuff, fresh water, bunkers and any other things the vessel needs.
